National Sprint Championship 4/5August 2018

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Jeri Lamba F2 Trophy, presented by Jeri’s Family at the Annual Sprint championship held at Stewartby.

Jeri passed away in 1998 following a short battle with cancer, his family and friends wanted to mark all that Jeri loved about the sport. Jeri was introduced to racing by the Peverelle Family and was hooked, initially crewing before realising it was much easier to race! He raced a F4 before moving into F2. Jeri quickly became known for his kindness, always helping others, a friendly smile, quick wit and of course having a pretty boat and the brightly dressed pit crew! He encompassed all that was good about racing and sportsmanship in his time involved in the sport.

Over the last 20 years the celebration of his life over the Sprint weekend has seen some amazing racing on the water and a number of champions crowned, along with some incredible off the water memories! There has been tears, laughter, games, dancing and singing, not forgetting numerous food and beer fights which he would have loved! There have been so many happy times spent with family and friends and as much as Jeri loved the racing, he enjoyed this just as much!

As we reach the 20th year Jeri’s family and friends have taken the difficult decision to make this year the final memorial trophy (the Sprints itself will continue, just without his trophy). We hope as many of you as possible can join us this year, whether on or off the water to celebrate Jeri’s life, and make this 20th year as memorable as all the others.
In addition, the BBQ will be joined by Rapid Response Rescue team as they celebrate their 25th anniversary who are also providing the evening DJ.
Please join us for what looks to be a great weekend and celebration.
